
Thomas Edison National Historical Park is hiring for several permanent park guide positions. Here’s what the job entails.
WEST ORANGE, NJ – Have you ever wanted to work as a guide in a National Historic Park? Here’s your chance, the Thomas Edison National Historical Park announced Tuesday.
The park posted the following message on social media about some new business opportunities:
Have you ever wanted to work at the Thomas Edison NHP? You talk to visitors and tell the story of Thomas Edison, his wife Mina, and their family? Maybe show how the early phonograph worked? Now’s your chance. The park advertises several permanent park guide locations. The ad will be open until 11: 59 p.m. on April 21.”
According to the posting on usajobs.gov, the primary purpose of the position is to provide extension services to visitors. The work includes lecturing, interpreting natural and historical features, answering questions, guiding tours, and providing various services to visitors.
