BUCYRUS – On Monday evening, the Wynford Board of Education held its monthly meeting.

The Board of Directors has approved the Wynford District One plan for the 2023-2024, 2024-2025, and 2025-2026 school years.

“District 1 Plan and Individual Needs Assessment are two state documents that must be turned in to the Ohio Department of Education. All counties throughout Ohio are in clusters, and the first year Wynford was selected to be in cluster was last year. The Individual Needs Assessment is, you continue With your management team and teachers, you discuss the issues and root causes of why you might not be doing well in certain areas, English and Maths specifically, and try to dig deeper into the root causes so you can make an assessment of where you are and how to improve,” said Superintendent Tressler.

Cast members Emma Hensel and Jack Gachelle, from the school’s latest production that I , Talk to the board about the roles they have played in the production and briefly about their experiences in the plays.

Hensel, who played Grace Farrell, has been in five musicals, three in high school and two in elementary school.

Gatchel, who played Mr. Warbucks, was involved in five musicals, two of which were with Wynford and three elsewhere. Gachel said that this was his biggest role to date.

Treasurer Leesa Smith has updated the Board on the financials, including funds received from Rover Pipeline. For the second year in a row, the pipeline includes half of its needs. I think in the end if they end up doing the valuations, we try to get to about fifty to sixty percent. That’s probably how much money we’ll have, and we won’t have to worry about paying anything back because that’s how they approach it, Smith said.

Temporarily in the middle of a meeting, the board adjourned to an executive session to consider hiring a government employee or official.

All items on the staff agenda have been approved.

Apart from items B11 and B12 under operational items, all have been approved.

Items B11 and B12, the 2023-2024 Wynford Middle/High School Handbook and Wynford Athletic Handbook, respectively, are brought up for further discussion at a future meeting where all changes can be highlighted and discussed in more detail.

The next meeting of the Board of Directors is May 15th at 5:30 PM
