
Rochester, Michigan (CBS Detroit) – The University of Oakland is ranked fourth in Michigan in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Rankings are based on performance indicators that measure university teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. About 1,799 universities in 104 countries are included in the ranking. Other named universities in the state include the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Grand Valley University, and Western Michigan University.
In the United States, the University of Auckland is tied for 161st. Oxford University is ranked first overall, followed by Harvard University, Cambridge University, and Standford University.
“I celebrate the fact that the University of Oakland is ranked among the best universities in the state and country in the most recent Times Higher Education rankings,” said Ora Hirsch Peskovitz, Chancellor of the University of Auckland, in a statement. “We will continue our efforts to provide high-quality, affordable education to our students to make Auckland the university of choice. We will also celebrate and support the work of our faculty and staff as they continue to build the reputation of our national and international scholarly university.”
