The Cajundome in Lafayette hosts the LEDA job fair

City says 7,000 summer jobs are available for Boston youth ages 14 to 18

Comprised of nearly 100 of the region’s top employers, if you are currently looking to advance or launch your career, the LEDA job fair could be the event for you.

The annual job fair is a free event open to the public on Tuesday, May 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette. In its 28th year, the LEDA job fair is the largest recruitment event in Acadiana. Hundreds of top Acadiana employers successfully recruited job candidates at this one-day event.

“The LEDA job fair is an excellent opportunity to meet face-to-face with hiring managers from many employers on one day, in one location,” says Ryan LaGrange, director of LEDA Workforce Development. Every year, we hear success stories after the job fair from job seekers and employers. This event continues to have a tremendous impact on the community, helping job seekers and businesses alike.”

An electronic application station and mobile module, sponsored by the Louisiana Workforce Commission – American Job Center and Acadiana Workforce Solutions, will be available, allowing job seekers to apply for available positions at participating companies, as well as search and apply to thousands of additional jobs in the region and throughout the state. Not only will the job fair bring together job seekers with recruiters and hiring managers, but it will offer two seminars. The first webinar at 10:00 a.m. discusses LinkedIn for your workshop, and the other at 11:30 a.m. discusses how to write an impactful resume for today’s job market.
