Summer and living are easy unless you’re sweating to make a few bucks. But even then, who said it couldn’t be fun?
The City of Granbury is accepting applications for seasonal, part-time jobs that include beach watchmen, concessionaires, and lifeguards. Hours include days, evenings, and weekends.
Beach watchers enforce the rules at City Beach Park, the beach area on East Pearl Street near the arena. Beach watchers are different from lifeguards. Those who swim in this place do so at their own risk.
Beach watch duties include checking bags and coolers, helping to keep the beach area clean, monitoring guests, and liaising with law enforcement or first responders if needed.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Lifeguards and concessionaires are needed for the Dana Vollmer Municipal Swimming Center at 400 N. Park Dr. Both positions are open to those 16 and over.
Duties of the franchisee include preparing franchise items for sale, collecting and reporting money from sales, making change, cleaning around the stand, and helping prepare program information.
The job also includes knowledge of state rules on food service sanitation and food handling. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Applicants must be in good physical condition, able to stand for long periods of time, and strong enough to lift up to 50 lbs.
Lifeguard positions are open to those who have lifeguard certification from the Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, YMCA, or BSA, and Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR to train professional lifeguards.
Information on how to apply for these positions can be found under Human Resources at granbury.org Connected.
