Westerville – Sandra A. “Sandy” Keith, 77, formerly of Warren and Cortland, passed away peacefully after a long illness, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, surrounded by her family, at her daughter’s home.

She was born on November 4, 1945, in Youngstown, to John and Eloise Gitner.

A graduate of Ursuline High School, Sandy was a retired medical assistant and longtime member of St. Robert’s Catholic Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her warmth and kindness were infectious. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, hosting holidays, being near Lake Erie and occupying her grandchildren.

Sandy went on to marry her great love, the late Roy Keith Jr., on October 18, 1969. They shared nearly 25 years before his death in 1994.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Greg) Boone of Columbus. her son, Brian Keith from Poland; grandchildren Amelia, Ella, and Evelyn of Columbus; Sister Nancy Gitner of Youngstown; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sedlar of New Middletown; her cousins ​​who were like her sisters, M. Patricia DeLomo of Poland and Mary Lou (Choi) Carrillo of Fresno, California; her grandparents and many beloved friends and neighbors.

Her husband and parents preceded her in death.

Friends can call from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Church in Warren. Prayers will follow at noon. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Ohio State University James Cancer Center, or University Hospitals, Seedman Cancer Hospital, two wonderful research centers that helped Sandy spend 13 more years with her loved ones.
