Vermont Business Magazine The Department of Buildings and General Services is offering a variety of government vehicles and equipment for public auction on Saturday, May 13, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Berlin, VT. This annual in-person auction is expected to be very well attended.

Large collection of government vehicles and equipment including dump trucks, plow trucks, pickup trucks, passenger vehicles, boats, four-wheelers, snowmobiles, rowboats, mowers, tools, tires, parts, and more.

In addition to the auction, an “Airport Shuffle” sale will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The “Airport Sharp” selection of hand tools includes hunting knives, pocket knives, pocket tools and corkscrews. There will be over a dozen sets of new and/or lightly used tires for sale. Find some incredible deals!

“It is an absolute tender with no reserve. All vehicles and equipment will be sold to the highest bidder rain or shine,” said Sarah Grenier, the state’s surplus property coordinator. “This auction is on many calendars in New England and Quebec. It has become a destination event for many who come year after year hoping to find a great deal on both the vehicle and the equipment,” said Grenier. State officials hope some of the equipment and vehicles will find their way back to serve Vermont communities.

The auction will be held at the Transportation Agency Central Garage, located across from the Wayside Restaurant at 1756 US Route 302, Berlin, Vermont (05602).

Auction registration and vehicle previews will be held on Friday, May 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again on auction day, May 13, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until the event closes.

“These auctions are designed for the state to use some of the money that taxpayers have invested over the years. Finding new homes for this equipment is a win-win for the state and countless communities, contractors and the public who bid on some valuable items. Vermont is one of the last states in New England to host live auctions. ” said Sarah Grenier.
