
LIBERTY – Michael A. Adler, known as “Whitey,” 64, of Liberty, died at his home Friday, April 14, 2023.
Michael was born August 11, 1958, in Warren, the son of Philip J. and Phyllis G. Griffith Adler.
He graduated in 1976 from Liberty High School. Whitey was a talented athlete and played third base (hot corner) for the Leopards baseball team. He later graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He played softball for many years and played in the Bell Wake Bowl. He coached baseball and softball for many years for the Liberty Township Baseball Association. Enjoy his trips to Texas, Arizona, Nashville, Put-in-Bay, and Geneva-on-the-Lake. He was a big fan of the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed gardening, going to auctions, and sunny days at the pool. His greatest joy was his children and spending time with family.
Michael worked for the Liberty Township Road Department and was a member of Teamsters 377. He was also a member of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard.
Michael will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his two sons, Michael C. Adler and Christopher M. Adler, both from San Antonio, Texas, and Alexandra K. and his cat, Jo Jo Smith Schuster (“Miss Woo”).
He also left his siblings, Kim A. Adler of Gilbert, Arizona, and Judge Jeffrey D. (Tina) Adler from Hubbard, and Michelle R Adler from San Antonio, Texas; nephews and nieces, Emily Schafer, Jared Adler, Jacqueline Adler and Riley Sweater; a nephew, Miles Moon; David and Diane Adler’s uncle and aunt; the aunts, Sharon Cilla, Theresa Adler, Betty Sue Adler and Joan Griffith; And many beloved cousins.
Next to his parents, his uncles Larry Adler, Fritz Adler, Dan Sella, Jim Griffith, and Clarence Kerr preceded him to death; and aunts, Corinne Sexton and Louis Castrop.
The Celebration of Life Lunch will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at The Refuge, 1155 Churchill Hubbard Road in Liberty. The family will receive friends and relatives from 11 am to 3 pm
Michael will be buried at Churchill Cemetery.
