
The Illinois Board of Education confirmed an earlier Chicago Board of Education decision revoking Urban Prep Academy’s charter status on Wednesday by denying the institution’s appeal, making the change official.
The CPS statement said that Urban Prep Academy schools were found to be in non-compliance with legal requirements and to hold the charter at the time of the October 2022 vote.
Urban Prep Academy has filed an appeal with the state Board of Education after the Chicago Board of Directors voted to revoke the institution’s charter status in response to the schools’ alleged abuses.
