
The REEL Awards honor outstanding educators across Florida who bring personal finance and economic education into their classrooms every day

Brevard County, Florida – Dwayne Kennedy of Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. The high school was recently honored with the Florida Council of Economic Education Regional Education and Leadership Award.
“It’s a really great honor to be named this year’s award winner. I pride myself on giving my students real-world material that they can take and apply in the real world,” Kennedy said.
“I am so grateful to my students and staff as they continue to push me to be better every single day.”
The REEL Awards honor outstanding educators across Florida who bring personal finance and economic education into their classrooms every day.
While Kennedy was working as Coach Beach Jr./SR. A high school economics teacher, he is also an assistant college football coach and assistant track and field coach.
Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School is ranked 1005 in the national rankings. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required exams, graduation, and how well students are prepared for college.
The school was established in 1964 and is over 50 years old. During that time, it was the people who made it such a special place.
