COLUMBIA, SC — The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is hosting a government job fair for various positions, from public health and nursing to administrative work and environmental protection.
While the Columbia job fair is taking place, jobs are available across the state. In addition to DHEC, other government agencies will be involved, including the Department of Corrections, Department of Social Services, and Department of Mental Health. The Career Fair takes place Thursday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street, Columbia.
DHEC will conduct on-site, pre-interviews for several critical positions. Those who attend a job fair are encouraged to dress for a potential interview and bring several copies of their current resume.
South Carolina offers its employees generous benefits, including health and dental insurance, retirement and savings plan options, and paid vacation and sick leave. In addition, work-life balance programs such as telecommuting and flexible work schedules are available to employees of some state agencies.
Anyone can view and apply for government positions in South Carolina on Careers.sc.gov Or stop by the job fair on March 30th to speak with employees from participating agencies. While not required, it is recommended that you register in advance for a job fair to ensure that you provide your contact information and job interests.
