
DALLAS – A technology company is under fire after a LinkedIn ad for a position in Dallas went viral.
The backlash targets a Virginia-based company Arthur Grand Technologiesan IT services company, after posting the job listing in question on Reddit.
The listing was for a Salesforce Business Analyst and Insurance Claims Contract job in Dallas, with clients listed as HTC Global and Berkshire Hathaway.
In the job description, the listing stated: “Native-born U.S. citizens only [White] Locals within 60 miles of Dallas, Texas [Don’t share with candidates]. “
The list was Posted on Reddit And it started getting attention online and social media.
The company initially responded to the listing by saying that it does not condone discrimination and that “a new junior recruiter at our company was responsible for the offending job posting.” Then the company said it had fired the employee.
Arthur Grand later Post a new statement For the accident, blaming the list on a former employee.
The company stated “This job posting was not authorized or posted by Arthur Grand or his employees. A former employee took an existing posting, added discriminatory language, and then reposted it through his own account.” “The moment this was brought to our attention, we worked with the job portal to remove this offensive job posting. Necessary legal action has been taken against the job poster.”
The company went on to say that it is a minority owned company that takes pride in its diversity. The company stated that “all hiring decisions are based on the individual’s qualifications”.
The job listing has since been deleted.
