The Honorable William “Bill” Hager, a state representative serving Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper residents of House 122, has been appointed to be the new member of the Education Oversight Committee (EOC). Hager was appointed by House Speaker and Public Works and Education Committee delegate Shannon Erickson, to serve as her representative on the committee. Hager replaces Representative Ray Fielder.
Hager was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated from The Citadel with a BA in Electrical Engineering. First elected to the House of Representatives in 2022, Hager is a member of the Education and Public Works Committee, the Administrative Regulations and Procedures Committee, and the Chairman of the Committee on Modernization of the House’s Workforce and Facilities.
Hager is a member of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Alliance and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hampton County Gideons International. He is also a deacon at Farnville Baptist Church. He previously served as a board member of the Beaufort Exchange Club.
Hagar lives in Hampton.
