A $90 million manufacturing plant expansion means new jobs at Mount Holly

City says 7,000 summer jobs are available for Boston youth ages 14 to 18

Charlotte – Gold Bond Building Products It will invest $90 million in an expansion of the Mount Holly facility, which will add about 11 jobs and retain 100 existing jobs, according to Gaston County records. Charlotte branch National Gypsum Company. produces gypsum wall panels and a full line of products including ceiling panels, sheathing, underlining, tile backing, precast panels and plaster products.

Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2023. Refinements to its existing facilities, transportation infrastructure upgrades, and other improvements will continue through 2024.

Some of these improvements will allow for more rail-bound shipments that are currently done by truck. Gold Bond has had a facility in Mount Holly since 2007. Gaston County and the City of Mount Holly have provided the company with tax breaks totaling approximately $3.3 million and $1.8 million, respectively, over 10 years.
