City says 7,000 summer jobs are available for Boston youth ages 14 to 18

With the spring semester coming to an end, now is the best time to start considering on-campus employment for the fall term and, if you’re looking to stay in Binghamton, for the summer as well. During my eight seasons as a student at Binghamton, I worked in a variety of positions, from resident assistant to tour guide to newspaper reporter. With me fast approaching graduation, these roles I held as an undergraduate gave me the experience needed to secure a full-time gig. While researching the list of current job openings at Fleishman Career Center, these were the up for grab jobs that I found to be the most unique.

ESPN Live Broadcast Production Assistant

Are you a big fan of sports? Or maybe interested in broadcasting? as a ESPN Live Broadcast Production AssistantYou’ll work behind the scenes with running on-screen graphics, replays, cameras, sound board and more to produce live broadcasts of Bearcat sporting events on ESPN 3 and ESPN+. I already used to be a member of that team, and I can say, as someone with a bit of mathematical knowledge, this was a great experience that helped me break into the news industry. Since I was a first year student, I have always believed that being a blue bus driver It was one of the coolest things you could do. In addition to owning the coolest whip on campus, you’ll also get the chance to get a New York State Class B commercial driver’s license in order to operate one of these big rigs. OCC Transport It requires one year of active, licensed driving experience and a clean driving record, but traveling around Bing on one of those cool rides seems like a good gig to me.

Help create weekly nights of fun for students like us The late Nate is a member of the General Staff. Binghamton Late Nite has everything from laser tag to petting zoos to giant inflatables on its shows every week. As part of this team, you will be responsible for brainstorming events, setting up the venue, and helping events run smoothly. Get money to have fun? It doesn’t sound so bad.

The first peer success coaches Helping new students transition into university life through academic, social and career guidance. This role will work with UNIV 101 and UNIV 103 courses designed for students to explore and develop the skills needed for a successful university life. As an RA, I’ve seen the importance of peer-to-peer mentorship. It was one of the most satisfying experiences of my life, and this is a great opportunity to make the same impact.

Indoor sports official

Football, basketball, dodgeball, soccer, softball, and volleyball are all sports Campus Recreation offers indoors, and it couldn’t have happened without students writing down the games. I have friends who are doing this job right now and they always look so cool and say, “I have to go to softball in 20 minutes.” Wearing that elegant uniform would be enough to get me on board. You’ve met some of the most interesting people on tour, and you get to see families around during the beautiful summers in Binghamton.

Ropes Course Assistant

The high ropes course is one of our hidden gems on campus, and you could get paid to work out all summer long. Campus Recreation is looking for a Ropes Course Assistant to help facilitate the course External Challenge Program. You will need to be willing and able to navigate outdoor terrain and learn rope handling skills, but this job has to be one of the best the campus has to offer. Having this experience in your back pocket would be a great fun fact to share during the curriculum week.

Student Employment Initiative

The Student Employment Initiative is a new program within the Fleischmann Career Center launched this year that seeks to create more job opportunities for students as well as raise the experience and skills that students acquire through these jobs.
