For the past seven years, the Columbia Chrysler Dodge Jeplum has given them their own hard-working high school senior car, and this year is no exception.
During a live event at the dealership on Saturday, May 21st at 5pm, one lucky MCPS senior will win the 2022 Jeep Compass with the dealer’s annual Strive to Drive gift.
7 years of effort to drive
In 2015, Eddie Collier, owner of the Columbia Chrysler Dodge Jeplum, devised the program with then-director Eddie Hickman.
“Thanks to the community for supporting us and becoming a successful dealer over the last few years. This is our way of giving back,” Collier told the Daily Herald earlier.
Collier said he and his wife first worked hard to come up with the idea of a drive giveaway while returning from a trip to Florida. They saw it as a way of giving back, while encouraging local students to do their best at school.
“It’s especially great to give back to the children,” said Gina Collier. “We want to keep them motivated until the end of the year.”
Collier wanted to help students succeed in helping them plan college and graduate from high school.

This program recognizes seniors who have received A / B honor rolls and / or full attendance during the 9-week marking period. During each marking period, seniors will get an entry for each criterion into a brand new car lottery offered free of charge by the Colombian CDJR.

Once the program was implemented, students were given the choice of vehicles to be distributed and added the completion of FAFSA and TN Promise. With four 9-week school periods, students who receive good grades and perfect attendance each quarter can earn up to eight entries.

These incentives helped students strive for better grades, attendance, and future plans.
This year, students from six schools and two virtual academies chose the 2022 Jeep Compass as the car they wanted to win. Over 840 seniors have the opportunity to win the 2022 Jeep Compass.
All students and their families are invited to attend live events.
“We are excited to bring together community partners like the Chrysler Dodge Jeplum in Colombia to make a difference in education,” said district director Lisa Ventura. “Investing in the future is all about us. We are grateful to CDJR and its staff for their passion for education and the future of our graduates.”
Over $ 300,000 Donated to MCPS Students at StrivetoDrive Event

In addition to care giveaways, there are also eight $ 400 giveaways from CDJR to employees of each of the six high schools and two academies. $ 400 giveaways are sent to office employees, teachers, managers, cafeterias, cafeterias, nurses and more.
School Resources Officers of the Maury County Sheriff’s Office will also hand out laptop computers.
Over the last six years, including the seventh year, approximately $ 300,000 has been awarded during the Strive to Drive event to promote education in Maury County.
Jack Cobb, School District Communications Director, said:
This year’s vehicle will be given to students attending only at the end of the year with taxes paid by the winners.
The winner owns a car without a leash.
Vehicles are on display at each graduation ceremony and can be seen daily at Colombian dealers.
The car is wrapped in eye-catching graphics and you have to stay in the car for a short time after winning. Some winners chose to leave the lap on because it looks good and is a good source of conversation.
“Really, our main goal is to make sure these kids get better grades, go to school and go to college,” says Drive Director Brittany Sloan.
