
Over $ 34 million in state funding has been secured for the refurbishment and expansion of the Clarksville Campus at Nashville State Community College.
A total of $ 34,080,000 has been allocated to community-based higher education centers. They were allocated to the recently approved state budget from 2022 to 23, with the requirement that Nashville state be part of the funding.
Nashville Vice President Tom Hayden told Reef Chronicles in a previous interview that the university would provide $ 1.42 million for expansion and the total cost of the project would be over $ 35 million.
Governor Bill Lee initially submitted a budget request in January.

The Tennessee Commission on Higher Education has included the project in one of its top funding requests after the Tennessee Board has submitted the project as one of the top three priorities. Mayors Jim Daletto and Joe Pitts have made it the second priority of Clarksville-Montgomery County.
“With the Tennessee Parliament funding the Governor’s request, we are on the road to achieving refurbishment and expansion,” said Dr. Shana L. Jackson, President of Nashville. Said in.

The Clarksville campus in Nashville was first opened in 2012 with 257 students.
By 2017, enrollment had increased to 900 and exceeded capacity, so a modular structure of four classrooms was installed to meet demand.
With the planned expansion, an additional 800 students will be serviced.
“In Nashville, you can start here and go anywhere, which means that your degree or qualification can be a gateway to an exciting career, or you can transfer to an educational institution for four years after graduation to continue your education. As part of its expansion, Nashville plans to introduce new academic programs on its Clarksville campus, including associate degrees in nursing, secondary education, computer programming, and industrial process control.
The expanded Clarksville campus will also add modern space for workforce training.
Create additional resources to support student success, including a dedicated student-registered veterans lounge, a welcome center to better support admission and registration, a new bookstore, a campus cupboard food pantry, and an industry test space. Or will be extended. Accreditation, ADA test center, library and learning area, and tutoring support room.
As a result of the expansion, community-based higher education centers will be able to enable and strengthen strategic partnerships with TCAT in Clarksville, Clarksville-Montgomery County School, Fort Campbell and Austin Peay State University.

TCAT will offer an associate nurse program onsite.
Austinpee will provide space on the expanded Clarksville campus for students and advisors from Nashville State University who will transfer at graduation to make student migration easier and more seamless.
The college has also established a Clarksville Advisory Board that includes government, nonprofit, and corporate leaders.
