While some companies are holding back on flexibility, others, like Airbnb and Pinterest, are celebrating one year since the permanent transition to remote or hybrid work.
Even as the number of remote work opportunities dwindles, demand for flexible working remains high: Nearly half of employees want more flexibility with where and when they work, according to January 2023 report From Monster, which surveyed more than 1,000 workers.
However, the remote job market is becoming more competitive. Yelp, for example, has seen a 200% increase The company said earlier this year that the number of applicants for every general and administrative job since the company went fully remote in 2024, compared to 2019.
Technology, marketing and healthcare are among the top industries hiring for remote and hybrid jobs in 2023, according to Flex Jobs. Many companies in these industries have either adopted a remote or trust-based approach that sees employees working from home full time or choosing when and how to join their team in the office.
Here are 10 companies that have switched to a permanent flexible business model and are now hiring:

Remote work plans: HubSpot employees own files Three flexible working options:office, which means coming to the office 3 or more days a week; flex, which means coming to the office two days or less each week; or home, which means remote work. The program, which began in 2024, allows employees to change their selection once a year.

Remote work plans: Reddit switched to a permanent hybrid model in October 2020 where employees have the flexibility to work wherever they want, with options to work within the office.

Remote work plans: Spotify’s Work From Anywhere program, which launched in February 2024, offers remote, in-person and hybrid options to employees as well as more flexible living options if the employee wants to relocate. For example: Spotify offered to pay for a co-working membership if someone relocated to a neighborhood not near Spotify’s office and lost personal business.

Remote work plans: Within Airbnb’s “Live and work anywhere” The model, which began in April 2024, has employees able to work remotely or from an Airbnb office. Employees also have the option to work up to three months annually from over 170 countries.

Remote work plans: Dropbox First virtual programwhich launched in April 2024, sees employees working at least 90% of the time remotely and only required to come into the office for occasional group gatherings, such as happy hours and private educational sessions.

Remote work plans: Allstate employees can choose whether they work from home, in the office, or a combination of both Flexible working arrangement which has been in place since early 2020.

Remote work plans: Pinterest employees can work in all 50 states within the United States or within the country or region of their Pinterest office if they are international employees within the company PinFlex modelwhich was introduced in April 2024.
All employees are expected to visit the Pinterest office at least once a year for “culture-building” activities, according to the company’s website.
In addition, all full-time employees who have worked on Pinterest for at least six months can work outside of their country of work for up to nine months each year (three months per country). Employees with less than six months of work can do so for up to 30 days in total.

Remote work plans: instacart FlexFirst model, which was announced in May 2024, is allowing more than 70% of its employees to choose between working from home, an office, or a combination of both. Employees may live anywhere within the country in which they are authorized to work, with few exceptions.
